River Avon flooded over Avon Sailing Club, Twyning
From 1953 to 1960 Avon Sailing Club was based in what had been an orchard, part of the Fleet Inn. In the photo the Avon has flooded over the entrance and part of the dinghy park. Photo probably early summer 1957. Note the clear view to houses and church in Bredon, no longer available since the M5 motorway was built.
