A small window in the south transept (war memorial) chapel is inscribed "From the teachers and scholars of Guiseley National School" and depicts a weeping woman and a child beneath a burning building. Was the school bombed in the war, perhaps?
St Oswald's church, Guiseley

The ancient parish church of Guiseley, which has passed from one Diocese to another over the centuries - a board in the church lists the Bishops of York, Ripon and Bradford (but not yet the current diocese of Leeds).

St Oswald's building is noted for its great width, having a double nave and side aisles, and has elements dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries, along with later additions and changes. The last major alterations were in 1909, by Sir Charles Nicholson. It is listed grade I (list entry 1135598) and the listing gives more architectural detail. The original churchyard is closed for burials but there is an extension to the east which is just used as a garden of remembrance for the interment of cremated remains.
