With the easing of Covid lockdown restrictions, volunteers are now allowed back on site, but at this stage only for necessary maintenance.

This was my first visit since the previous August.
Claymills Victorian Pumping Station

Claymills Pumping Station is a former steam-powered, sewage pumping station on the north side of Burton upon Trent, now restored as a museum and visitor attraction. It was built between 1884 and 1886 and used to pump sewage caused by the brewing industry in Burton-upon-Trent to the sewage farm at Egginton. It is designated as a Grade II* listed building (Historic England List entry Number: 1038427 LinkExternal link ); one of only three pumping stations of this size and completeness to survive in England.
