Where HS2 and East West Railway will cross
Where HS2 and East West Railway will cross
The view from the road bridge of the site where the two railways will cross. The piledriver is at the site of the original Great Central Railway bridge which crossed over the LNWR Bletchley to Oxford line. HS2 will now pass under the LNWR line on the old GCR alignment at this point. The LNWR line is being rebuilt for East West Railway which will run trains from Oxford to Milton Keynes. Beyond is the temporary unloading point for stone trains bringing in aggregate for the construction of the new railway lines. This takes thousands of HGV's off the roads between Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire.
