Looking at old maps, the house does not appear to be anything to do with the railway or to be on the site of the old station. The station was a walk down the drive, the gate is on the site of a gate on the drive at the limit of railway property, and at least the posts might be original. The house does not appear on any maps when the railway was open, and may have been built when the railway property was sold (post 1964). There was a signal box here, but close to the railway and so beyond and a little above the house site. At a visit in May 2021, the house had been demolished.
