Unused car park by Wigmore Castle (for visitor centre)
This derelict car park is mostly covered by out-of-keeping growing plants. This was the car park for the unused visitor centre, although this car park was used by English Heritage for restoring the castle in the late 1990s (which proved to be unsuccessful later). I own a book called "Herefordshire From the Air" by Derek Foxton, and there is a lot of aerial photos in Herefordshire inside the book that date from the late 1990s. On an aerial photograph of Wigmore Castle, it showed the car park in brand new condition, and there were lorries, cars, etc. parked in the car park. The lane leading to the car park also looked brand new and intact, although nowadays, it looks like a wide footpath.
