Minworth Greaves, Bournville, Birmingham
A late-medieval hall house, originally from Minworth, 14 miles to the east, dismantled in 1915 and re-erected at Bournville in 1932. It stands behind Selly Manor house, another dismantled and reconstructed building. Minworth Greaves was reconstructed somewhat smaller than it had been, so as not to overwhelm its neighbour, which explains its slightly ill-proportioned appearance. It has a cruck frame, made from pairs of curved timbers. The interior was reconstructed as it would originally have been, without a ceiling and open to the roof beams, although a gallery was installed at one end. Minworth Greaves is part of the Selly Manor museum, which belongs to the Bournville Trust. Link
