Western Ramparts and Fortifications of Battlesbury Camp
Part of the Iron Age Hillfort of circa 100BC.
The western side is very steep and pretty much impregnable for an assault 2000 years ago.
The Wessex Ridgeway long distance footpath follows the top edge of the embankment.

The Wessex Ridgeway is a 136-mile long-distance footpath which runs from Marlborough in Wiltshire to Lyme Regis in Dorset. It was opened in 1994.
