The Evron Centre, Filey
This is now a conference, wedding and entertainment venue but its website gives the colourful history of the building: originally a Victorian villa built some time before 1850, from 1907 it became a Catholic convent and school run by the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Evron, hence the present name. The school closed in 1969 and from 1971 to 1993 it was the Town Hall and Council Chamber of Filey Urban District Council (later offices of Scarborough Council when FUDC ceased to exist). In the early 21st century it was redeveloped to include a Tourist Information Centre, Post Office, Police Station
TA1180 : Filey Police Station, community rooms and gym.
