taken 5 years ago, near to Alnwick, Northumberland, England

St Michael's Pant, Market Street
St Michael's Pant, Market Street
Drinking fountain on the south side of Market Street, built in 1765. It is in a stone shelter built in the 18th century Gothic Revival Style, which makes it appear medieval. An iron gargoyle, a mythical monster, forms the water spout which empties into a low stone trough. A statue of St Michael and Dragon (the symbol of the Town) stands on the top. The pant is Grade II*-listed (List Entry Number: 1041464 LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ).
