SD6598 : Breaks Head from Bush Howe

taken 4 years ago, 4 km ENE of Lowgill, Cumbria, England

Breaks Head from Bush Howe
Breaks Head from Bush Howe
The footpath, seen here at its biggest dip into and out of Windscarth Wyke, forms a splendid 4 km ridgewalk across the summit plateau of the Howgill Fells from Linghaw to the Calf, pretty much avoiding all the crowds who have ascended using the Cautley Spout route. Social distancing at its best ! The steep sides of the Howgills ensure excellent views whenever the path comes close the edges of the plateau, which is mote of the way.
