SD6596 : Descending White Fell towards Long Rigg Beck

Descending White Fell towards Long Rigg Beck
Descending White Fell towards Long Rigg Beck
From the summit plateau of the Howgill Fells, which we'd traversed from Linghaw to the Calf, this bridleway provides an easy descent to the west, eventually emerging at Four Lane Ends on the minor road from Sedbergh to Low Borrowbridge. Unfortunately for walkers, there's really nowhere to park on that road, but since this is CROW Access Land, it is acceptabe to go off-piste and over the col towards the right of the photo in order to return to a parking area at Fairmile Gate. This also facilitates visiting another less frequented bit of the Howgills, ideal when the odd kilometre of social distancing is required.
