For walkers, stepping stones provide a dry way across, though one or two are a bit polished, so not entirely without risk. In higher water levels, when the beck becomes an option for kayakers, both methods of crossing would be hazardous, and a boat probably the best bet. Boaters do need to watch out for at least one livestock fence just hidden round a bend downstream - there's not much of an eddy !
