Bovisand Harbour
The harbour was constructed between 1816 and 1824 to a design by John Rennie and Joseph Whidbey for the purpose of watering naval ships; Rennie was also responsible for Plymouth Breakwater which can be seen in this view. The water was collected from streams in the vicinity and loaded onto the ships in barrels.
