New fish pass at Kirkstall weir, looking downstream
The weir originally supplied river water to the Kirkstall textile mills, now a museum. This is one of several fish passes constructed along the river between Leeds and Shipley in the last few years, to encourage salmon and other migratory fish back to the river.
