Public Bridleway near Harbottle
Public Bridleway near Harbottle
This public bridleway links Low Alwinton with Harbottle and is also part of the Sandstone Way, an 120 mile mountain biking route between Berwick upon Tweed and Hexham. Immediately prior to reaching this point, behind the photographer, there stands an empty cottage which has been engulfed by a tangle of trees, bushes and foliage to the extent that access to the front door would only be possible after considerable pruning. This cottage is named on the first Ordnance Survey Six-Inch map of the area as, 'Peels Cottage'. For a selection of detailed free to download walking routes in the area visit LinkExternal link
