Wellington Street West, Hull
Wellington Street West in Hull's former docklands. The rails still embedded in the cobbled road surface are a remnant of the extensive railway system which carried freight into and out of the docks. The buildings to the right of the image occupy part of the site of a good shed, the offices block to the left occupies the site of another railway shed.
Wellington Street West forms part of the route of the Trans Pennine Trail for walkers. Cyclists following the Trans Pennine Trail take a different route through Hull, avoiding the former docks.

Trans-Pennine Trail
The Trans Pennine Trail is a long-distance path running from coast to coast across Northern England entirely on surfaced paths and using only gentle gradients (it runs largely along disused railway lines and canal towpaths). It forms part of European walking route E8 and is part of the National Cycle Network.
The surface and gradients make it a relatively easy trail, suitable for cyclists, pushchairs and wheelchair users. Some parts are also open to horse riding.
The trail Starts at Southport and ends at Hornsea a distance of 207 miles.
