NK1137 : Inside Petrie's Hole

taken 12 months ago, 3 km from Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, Great Britain

Inside Petrie's Hole
Inside Petrie's Hole
Taken from about 10m inside when the tide level was about 1.4 m. High tide level is somewhere in the dark band between the pink (coralline algae) and the bronze and red encrusting algae which thrive in low light and in the splash zone. At the end one can just make out the pillar at the end of this bit of tunnel. The tunnel continues into darkness on the left of that pillar. See also TL6362 : A1304.
