The war memorial is situated in the churchyard outside the Church of St Michael and All Angels. It is the form of a Maltese cross with a wreath in relief on its face. The cross is mounted on a tapering shaft that stands on a square base and plinth (SE1388 : Spennithorne and Harmby War Memorial, St Michael's Church).
The Church of St Michael and All Angels, Spennithorne

St Michael’s Church is Grade I listed (List Entry Number: 1179485 LinkExternal link Historic England). It was built in the 12th century with additions in the 13th and 14th centuries and sits on the site of a Saxon church. It consists of a south entrance porch with north and south aisles, a nave, chancel and vestry, and a small chapel where the organ is sited.
