The location and the boundary stone at the fences' meet is known as West Mere; it's in an area of featureless moorland and bog. The fence line running away is heading near to east; the other fencing follows the boundary between Cumbria and County Durham, but according to 1:25 000 mapping, here it runs slightly inside Durham territory.
Mapping at the 1:50 000 scale suggests that the boundary angle is just inside grid-square NY8814 but at the 1:25 000 scale it's clearly to the east of that: a GPS reading confirms it.
