St Mary the Virgin, Carleton-in-Craven

A village church with medieval origin, the earliest documentation being c.1120 as a chapel of ease for Bolton Abbey. Earthworks of the north half of the medieval village remain in the field to the west, but the present building was a total rebuild in 1859 by F H Pownall. It is listed grade II (List entry 1316758).
