NZ0747 : Bridge over the former railway

taken 5 years ago, near to Healeyfield, County Durham, England

Bridge over the former railway
Bridge over the former railway
A very nicely preserved example of a stone arched bridge over the Waskerley Way. This section of the former railway was built in the 1850's to replace a section of the original Stanhope and Tyne Railway on a better line. Although it's near Healeyfield, it isn't the actual Healeyfield Bridge. That's the one on the original line, as can be seen on the map.
