St Bede "Bede The Venerable" Tomb (672-735), Durham Cathedral
After his death on the 26th May 735 he was buried in Jarrow Monastery until 1022 when his bones were moved to Durham and buried alongside St Cuthbert. In 1370 they were moved to their own Tomb. This Tomb was destroyed in the reformation (1541) when again the bones were buried in the tomb which survives today.
