HS2 enabling works, Welsh Road area, September 2021 (14)

The widened Ridgeway Lane reaches the western boundary of the HS2 site whose front gate is off Welsh Road in SP3863. Tunnelling under Long Itchington Wood starts from this site: ahead is a mound of spoil from the enabling excavations. It was reported that a tunnelling machine is being assembled from parts flown in from Germany: the white structure relates to that: see SP3863 : HS2 enabling works, Welsh Road area, September 2021 (29)
