Welsh Poppy
This is Papaver cambricum, the Welsh Poppy, growing in a public footpath. Probably a self-seeded garden escapee. It seems to me to have flowered very late, but the weather is all over the place these days. It is a perennial poppy.
This plant has a variety of binomial names, including Meconopsis cambrica and Parameconopsis cambrica. The identification as a Meconopsis was a structural distinction from other poppies, but with the development of genomic analysis it is now known to be a true poppy, a Papaver.
