TF0820 : Colourful fungi

taken 2 years ago, near to Bourne, Lincolnshire, England

Colourful fungi
Colourful fungi
This is almost certainly the Lilac Bonnet, Mycena pura. The habitat is perfect for it here, the leaf litter of a deciduous wood. It appears to enjoy both broadleaf and needle detritus.

The fungus itself is fairly variable in the fruiting body, and there is a rather pretentious description of it here: LinkExternal link and a more approachable one here: LinkExternal link
