NH8906 : Shores of Loch Gamhna

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from The Polchar, Highland, Scotland

Shores of Loch Gamhna
Shores of Loch Gamhna
The southeast shore of Loch Gamhna extends beyond the forest edge for a little way before meeting the water, and supports lush grasses as well as bracken. A few trees are establishing in the wet soil - Downy Birch being the most prominent, but a few Scots Pine seedlings are also dotted about and will eventually shade out the more pioneering and short-lived deciduous species.
