This view shows that the single track turning circle expands into two platform roads. Trams run from here to Blackpool town centre and Fleetwood. To the right is the 'welcome arch' SD3031 : Welcome arch, Starr Gate, Blackpool.
Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramway :: SD3347

From the end of the Illuminations season of 2009, the tramway in Fleetwood closed in preparation for the modernisation of the tramway to a light rail system, due to open in the spring of 2012.
It is not known at this stage whether it will be possible for any of the historic trams to run on the modernised route. The new trams will operate at the modern standard 750 volts, compared with the present 550 volts.
