Slope east of farm at Woolly Hill
The slope is on the north side of the road serving the farm at Woolly Hill. At best the land offers rough grazing but is hardly anything other than moorland.
Dale Terrace is the group of houses near to the centre of the image.
With lottery funding and the support of Lord Barnard's estate, Woolly Hill Farm is now dubbed the 'Ark on the Edge'. As well as caring for rescued animals and birds, it has a nature trail and a Wildlife Education Centre. [See Durham Town & Country, Autumn 2007].
