SJ9295 : Victoria Park
taken 3 years ago, near to Denton, Tameside, England

Looking into the park from the entrance near the Town Hall/Library. On the right is the site of the former swimming baths which were demolished in 2021. The side of the building housed a huge Millennium Mural which has now alas gone for ever.
The Denton mural was painted on the wall of Denton Pool facing Victoria Park in 2000. It was conceived by David Vaughan and commissioned by the Denton Town Twinning Association. It serves to commemorate both the second millennium and the continuing friendship between the people of Denton and Montigny le Brettoneux.
A stitched "pano" of the mural can be found at Link
