TQ4433 : Colemans Hatch Road

taken 2 years ago, near to Coleman's Hatch, East Sussex, England

Colemans Hatch Road
Colemans Hatch Road
Looking eastwards towards the former entrance of the medieval deer park of Ashdown Forest from which the settlement derived its name. During that period there were two types of entrances, a gate which allowed all forms of traffic through and a hatch, which was a swing gate primarily for those on foot. The current road links Colemans Hatch to Wych Cross.
