This diesel-electric locomotive was built in Spain in 2000 for the English Welsh & Scottish railway company, initially to handle Royal Mail traffic. 67005, “Queen’s Messenger”, hauled a March 2022 special heritage trip on the Carlisle-Settle line with 67006, “Royal Sovereign”, handling the return leg. The train was photographed at Langwathby heading for Carlisle.
