Rededication of the Victory Arch at Waterloo station
On 21st March 1922, Waterloo station’s Victory Arch was opened to pay tribute to the railway workers who fought and died in the Great War. The original Waterloo station was a maze and unfit for purpose. However, over 20 years, the station was completely rebuilt by the London & South Western Railway, leaving the station with much the same layout as it is today. Queen Mary, wife of King George Vth, led the ceremony.

On 21st March 2022, another ceremony was held to rededicate the arch and war memorials. It is said to be the finest arch on any station in Britain. Britannia is above the station name and 'War' is on the left for 1914 and 'Peace on the right for 1918. See LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link
