The Manor House, Mount Grace Priory (provided by David Dixon)

This building began life as a guesthouse for visitors to the Carthusian priory which was established here in 1398. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII, the priory was sold and the religious buildings were partially dismantled or left to fall into ruins but the guesthouse was repaired and became a substantial manor house.

It is a Grade II* listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 332434 LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings).
