Waldridge Fell is described in a County Durham leaflet as an "area of lowland heath (moorland less than 300m above sea level)", The broad, braided route in the image is a public footpath. There are numerous other paths on the fell which has had accepted public access for countless years; it's now also classified as open access land under the year 2000 CROW Act.
