Holy Trinity church - Victorian pews
Holy Trinity church > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - view east dates from the 12th century, with the tower having been added during the 13th century. Greatly restored in 1854 and 1886, the interior is a combination of new and old: there are a few old carved poppyheads affixed onto the Victorian pews in the choir (seen here). The octagonal font dates from the 14th century, its wooden cover was made in 1964 > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - baptismal font. Fragments of old glass are inserted high up in the tracery of one of the south windows in the chancel > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - fragments of old glass; the east window was designed by Edward Framton and inserted in 1896 >TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - east window. The south aisle east window shows some influence of the Arts & Crafts style: it depicts St Francis, preaching to the birds > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - south aisle east window. The north aisle windows are by G. Maile of London and the easternmost window was made by Harry Stammers in 1959 > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - Harry Stammers window. There are several stained glass roundels inserted in the west windows > TG1742 : Holy Trinity church - stained glass roundels. The church is open every day. For more information see:
