Roman wall remains in Cirencester
Roman wall remains in Cirencester
As Corinium, Cirencester was one of the most important towns in Roman Britain. Three Roman roads converged here - Fosse Way, Akeman Street and Ermin Way - which made it an obvious trading centre. Even so, there are few obvious remains around the town but this short stretch of the wall has been excavated.
