I read somewhere that if you never experienced a coincidence it would be as weird as the fact that when they do occur we all go "Wow, is that strange, or what?". Today I was walking across The Heath with my wife. I was telling her about a school friend of mine, Panther. This would be about 1972 and we were conductinga scientific experiment to see what grew inside one square metre, and had constructed these balsa wood frames for the purpose. Our teacher Mr Smith did not want us to select the patch- for it to be random. So he said "Throw it over your head!". Well, it was awindy day and when Panther threw it over his head it blew back and smacked him on the back of the head. When we got back to my mum's house she said "Panther's just walked past and I told him you were here." and the great man said "Tell Basher I often think about all those laughs we used to have in the scouts and at school." The man should be knighted.
