Gilderdale Viaduct spanning the Northumberland/Cumbria boundary
The Gilderdale Burn passes under this impressive structure which historically carried the Alston Branch over the border from Northumberland into Cumberland. Now, the South Tynedale Railway follows the same route between Slaggyford and Alston. The path alongside provides a solid route for bikes.
