Newcastle Castle is a medieval fortification built on the site of the fortress that gave the City of Newcastle its name. The most prominent remaining structures on the site are the castle's main fortified stone tower (The Castle Keep), and the Black Gate, its fortified gatehouse.

The Keep is a Grade I listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1320005 LinkExternal link ), and a Scheduled Ancient Monument (HE List Entry Number: 1020126 LinkExternal link ).
