Seaton Sluice - The King's Arms
The King's Arms is the oldest pub in Seaton Sluice dating, according to the pub's own sign, to 1764. The EH listing LinkExternal link says "probably early C18th".
It is adjacent to the cut (known locally as 'The Gut') which allowed boats access to the harbour here. A plaque attached to the wall (bottom left) states that in 1777, 177 ships passed through this 'Gut' which was never exceeded.
