Rokeby Park is a small country estate some 2½ miles southeast of Barnard Castle. It lies on the west bank of the River Greta near its confluence with the River Tees. The house was built in 1731 is considered one of the finest examples of a neo-Palladian villa. The front of the house is of ashlar, the rest of rendered rubble stone, all under slate roofs. The interior is lavishly decorated and contains some superb collections of art, furniture and ceramics. There are a number of listed stables and other outbuildings within the estate.
