"History - Cold Harbour sits close to the Roman roads of Ermine Street and the Saltway. ... . Blue Harbour House was for centuries a coaching inn known as The Bunch of Grapes. In 1881 the name changed to Cold Harbour Inn. The name then was changed to Blue Harbour Inn when the Buckminster Estate bought it in 1892. It ceased to be a public house when they sold it in 1958, and it became Blue Harbour House."
I presume that as the Manners/Tollemache families of Buckminster were prominent Tory politicians, they probably followed the very common trend in 19th century Grantham of naming their pubs 'blue ...'. See LinkExternal link for blue pubs in Grantham
