NZ0644 : Heading north from the hairpin, Waskerley Way

taken 2 years ago, near to Waskerley, County Durham, England

Heading north from the hairpin, Waskerley Way
Heading north from the hairpin, Waskerley Way
The Waskerley Way, part of the Coast to Coast Cycle Route, follows old railway track beds, ensuring a pretty gentle gradient for most of the distance. West of Bee Cottage, it encounters a hairpin bend where it switches from one side to the other of a junction (about a quarter kilometre behind the photographer). This is the western limb, heading north, but shortly to turn west towards Waskerley. The eastern limb is a short distance away off the right of the view, heading for Rowley and Consett.
