The Waskerley Way in Waskerley Park
Heading back after a café stop at Parkhead, we are now going in the normal direction for a traverse of the Coast-to-Coast Cycle Route. The weather has taken a turn for the worse during our lunch and glowering clouds are now accompanied by a brisk breeze, luckily from behind (that's why most cyclists do the C2C from west to east, of course). From Parkhead, the old railway trackbed heads across Waslerley Park, an area enclosed by a wall labelled Park Pale, as an antiquity, but nowadays enclosing Waskerley Reservoir, rather than a hunting reserve.
