The timber formwork installation used to retain and support the wet concrete to the toe beam of the southern half of the weir. The plastic pipes attached to the timber are to create recesses in the finished concrete weir. These recesses were to provide wildlife habitat for the crayfish which had been relocated upstream of the works and were expected to migrate downstream back to the weir.
Refurbishment of Olivers Mill Weir

Refurbishment works to the weir and the installation of a new fish pass at Olivers Mill Weir, on the River Wansbeck, Morpeth during the Autumn of 2000.
