St Mary’s Church in Ambleside
Built 1850-1854 in the early Gothic style. It is unlike many of the churches in the Lake District as this one has a spire. Here it is on a dull November day after the rain had stopped and the autumn leaves still looked very colourful. The graveyard was quiet and peaceful quite the opposite from the village school beside it where the children were screaming and shouting happily all enjoying their afternoon playtime!
