Old Milestone, A6, Blackrack Bridge
The milestone is located 5m south of the bridge, on the verge on the east side of the road. Parish of Hesket (Eden District). Metal plates attached to stone post, Carlisle red stone numeral design, originally erected by the Carlisle & Eamont Bridge Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. The milestone was found in a garden in Calthwaite Bridge in 2021, and restored and re-sited in 2022 by Terry Moore, Milestone Society.
