Festival Park is the legacy of the Stoke-on-Trent National Garden Festival (May-October 1986), which itself involved the reclamation of land formerly occupied by the Shelton Bar steelworks. The main site was completed in 1995, and features three main areas: the parkland, pools and trails; a retail park and entertainment complexes; and low-rise office developments.
