Concrete road and canal curving in parallel
The canal is the main line of the Shropshire Union. The road is a striking feature: it was constructed by laying side by side a large number of concrete beams rather like railway sleepers, but not those. There will surely be hundreds of these beams along the way which is a public footpath extending from Westcottmill Bridge on the canal to the minor public road west of Halleman's Bridge. The need for such a heavy-duty road running around a field edge can only be guessed at!
